PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

PEO-1:Excellence in Computer Science and Engineering and entrepreneurship through compilation of the Knowledge from mathematics, engineering fundamentals and computation.
PEO-2:Capable to design innovative solution to real life problems those will be technically visible, economically viable and socially acceptable.
PEO-3:Implement the knowledge in establishing effective communication, organizing team work, and serving ethical responsibilities with a frame of mind towards lifelong learning.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

PSO-1: Able to apply the knowledge gained during the course of the programme from mathematics, basics computing, basic science and social science in general and all computer science courses in particular to identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems faced in industries and during research work with due consideration for the safety and needs of the society and environment.
PSO-2: Able to provide socially acceptable technical solutions to complex computer science engineering problems with the application of programming languages, software engineering skills and newly developed techniques in the field of computer society.

Due to the increasing demand in the field of Computer Science. In this fully automated world, this course which is a complete blend of technical subjects seems to find its own place in providing the students with adequate knowledge and expertise.

Computer Science is the heart of the modern era of civilization. As computing technology became versatile and acquired a global dimension, SIT has all the ingredients necessary to curve out a successful Computer Engineer that can be measured up to any international standard of computer hardware and software engineer. The college has splendid AC state-of- the-art computer labs with 100% LAN connection and Internet facility.

The Department has eminent faculty members specialized in different areas. Our department has well established laboratories with good infrastructure, and qualified faculty members to impart enough practical knowledge to the students. Our aim is to shape up the students technically to face this modern world with sound knowledge of new technologies and efficiency.

Outcome Based Education (OBE)

  • Outcome based education (OBE) is student-centered instruction model that focuses on measuring student performance through outcomes. The OBE model measures the progress of the graduate in three parameters, which are Program Educational Objectives (PEO), Program Outcomes (PO), Course Outcomes (CO)
  • PEO’s are broad statements that describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program is preparing the graduates to achieve. PEO’s are measured 4-5 years after graduation.
  • PO’s are narrower statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. They must reflect the 12 Graduate attributes as described by NBA for under graduate engineering programs.
  • CO’s are the measurable parameters which evaluates each student’s performance for each course that the student undertakes in every semester.

Since computer science being the order of the day, it is very much necessary for the young minds to get accustomed with the latest developments in the field of computer research. Moreover Computer Science being one of the most important sought branches in Industrial point of view, it would fetch high dividends for the students who take up Computer Science as their career course.

Program Assessment Committee

  • Program Assessment Committee consists of Program Coordinator, Course coordinator of the Semester and faculty representatives.
  • Headed by Program Coordinator, the committee monitors the attainment of PEO’s.
  • Assesses program effectiveness and proposes necessary changes.
  • Prepares periodic progress reports on program activities for college administration.
  • Encourages the faculty and students to attend workshops, develop working models, publish papers, and conduct research.

1. The Department of CSE, Synergy Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar has Signed an MOU with NIRMAAN Organization to set up an AI &ML Learning Centre in collaboration with Microsoft and Redington as a SPOC centre to train 200 students per year by their certified trainer and minimum 60% placement per year. The AI/ML Learning Centre for the Department will impart training on for various AI-driven roles: such as Core AI & Data: Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, NLP Engineer.AI-Enabled Business: AI Product Analyst, Data Analyst, AI in Healthcare/Finance., Emerging Gen AI: Prompt Engineer, AI Content Strategist, AI Automation Specialist.

2. The Department of CSE, Synergy Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar has Signed an MOU with NIRMAAN Organization to set up a Yep training Centre in collaboration with Microsoft and Redington as a SPOC centre to train 200 students per year by their certified trainer and minimum 60% placement per year. In the centre at SIT, Microsoft has launched several free programs in 2026 such as AI Skills Yatra: A self-paced, online and offline program on Microsoft Learn designed for students. It offers to our students free Microsoft-verified digital certificates and badges upon completion of tracks like AI Fundamentals and Responsible AI, Microsoft Credentials AI Challenge: Running from January 20 to March 2, 2026, this challenge allowed participants to earn Applied Skills credentials and win 50% discount vouchers for certification exams such as: AB-900: Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals.AB-730: AI Business Professional,AB-731: AI Transformation Leader.AI Skills Fest: A campaign where learners can earn Credly Badges by completing learning paths in categories like Fluency, Explorer, and Mastery across Azure, AI, and Security.

Our Computer Science and Engineering Department had selected for MSME Idea Hackathon of grant of Rupees Fifteen lakh for the idea “Real Time Object Detection in Arial Surveillance Using Edge AI” under the theme Stealth, Surveillance and Cyber Defence Technologies under ample guidance our principal Prof (Dr) Aswini Kumar Mohanty.
